It nestles near the bottom of the Cornish peninsula, surrounded by golden beaches, stunning countryside, and where the culture is rich with history. Student population spreads across two campuses - at Woodlane and the fantastic Combined Universities of Cornwall (CUC) development at Tremough. At first glance Falmouth seems a quiet town but it can be as exciting as anywhere; plenty of pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants in which to socialise and venues to suit all tastes and budgets. Students' union is known as FXU - Falmouth (University College Falmouth) and Exeter (University of Exeter, Cornwall) SU. It is the driving force behind student support and entertainment - everything from poker nights to black tie events. Great facilities for entertainment at Tremough in The Stannary bar, so bigger gigs can be held (have included Mr Scruff, Zero 7, Squarepusher and Jack Johnson). FXU is committed to offering a complete service to students, to ensure they enjoy their time at Falmouth; present on both campuses and lots of opportunities to be involved in lots of different ways. It has trained advisers offering confidential and impartial help, coordinators for community action and sports/recreation. Students like Falmouth for its relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and the beautiful environment of Cornwall.
