What's it like as a place to live? Edge Hill and Ormskirk are fantastic places to live, great fun and lively atmosphere that's safe and secure.
How's the student accommodation? Student accommodation both on and off campus are well maintained and clean and tidy. Halls are well looked after and each has a Student Assistant living in them, that helps all students with settling in and throughout their year in halls.
What's the student population like? Students are friendly and easy-going. A number of the students are from Liverpool but there is a diversity of backgrounds and there is a strong number of students from America.
How do students and locals get on? The students and the locals are not always the best of friends although there are some good times had between the locals and the students.
What's it like as a place to study? Edge Hill is a great place to study with multiple computers and facilities. The library has a number of books, most of which can be accessed online. Computer room so students can have access to the internet and computers all day and all night.
What are the teaching staff like? The teaching staff are helpful and interested in the students, and the students' wellbeing and success.
What are student societies like? There are a number of sports teams. The SU doesn't have many societies however they are looking to have more and get the new students involved and get these set up.
What's a typical night out? A typical night out is a few drinks in the numerous pubs and bars that Ormskirk has and then off up to the University Club bar where all the students come together.
And how much does it cost? The night would usually cost around £20.
How can you get home safely? There are mini-buses that run at the end of the night back into town to drop off students so they can get home safe.
Is it an expensive place to live? Edge Hill is not an excessively expensive place to live.
Average price of a pint? £2.35.
And the price of a takeaway? £3.50.
What’s the part-time work situation? There are some average paid jobs in the surrounding area and the University has a Job club where they will help you find placements and part-time work. The Uni also employs students for open days and other one-off events.
What's the best feature about the place? The best feature about Edge Hill and Ormskirk is that it's a nice pretty place to live and study. Everywhere is in easy walking distance and there are trains and buses to the surrounding areas of Southport and Liverpool
And the worst? Ormskirk town is very quiet on a Sunday and bank holidays and not much is open. Also the Campus and university is very quiet at the weekend.
And to sum it all up? A beautiful place to work, study and play.
