Living expenses budget:	Minimum budget of £7000 pa (excluding tuition fees) recommended by The Courtauld.

It’s in Somerset House, one of the most splendid buildings in London, together with the Courtauld’s world-famous art collection. The Strand is on one side, the Thames on the other. It has superb library facilities – Book Library and the Witt and Conway libraries for pictorial reference – teaching rooms and its own fully-modernised lecture theatre. Comfortable common room space for students and a smart refectory selling quality food. It’s small, with a friendly atmosphere; the ‘finishing school’ reputation is long gone. Very high academic standards; all tutors expect complete dedication. Social life revolves around frequent parties and a summer ball. Added to this is the more informal social life whereby, when the college closes, anyone left in the building is encouraged to go to the pub. Some accommodation on the Strand, otherwise students are referred to London University intercollegiate halls. As members of the university, students can make use of all ULU sporting facilities at Malet Street. London’s galleries and libraries within walking distance and, of course, the West End and all the entertainments London has to offer.
