Site:	Main Wolverhampton site plus others in Compton Park, Telford and Walsall. Nursing courses in Burton, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
How to get there:	Accessible by train from most parts of the country; close to M5, M6, M54. Good local public transport (incl train, tram and buses); free inter-site shuttle service.

Student advice & services:	Advice and support includes personal counselling service, financial advisers, study skills advisers, multi-faith team, careers guidance and employment services, specialist support for disabled students and international students, education guidance (also advises applicants). Independent advice and support from Students' Union.
Amenities:	Recreational and competitive sports, students' societies, social networking and volunteering opportunities provided by SU
Sporting facilities:	Multi-floor sports hall, 2 squash courts and fitness suite at City campus; 12-court sports hall, fitness & conditioning suite, synthetic athletics track, synthetic floodlit pitch, grass pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool and dance studio at Walsall campus.
Accommodation:	75% of first years in university accommodation. Over 2000 self-catering places in halls of residence on 4 campuses (1000 ensuite): rent £67−£100 per week, including utilities, internet and insurance; 37-week contracts (some 52 weeks). Specialist collections: Regional history of West Midlands, company and legal reports, European Documentation Centre. Information provisions, £92 pa spent for each student (FTE). Information skills training sessions. Separate IT services, open 8-24 hours/day (including support staff). 750 computers with access to library and internet. IT module available to all students.

Money

Living expenses budget:	Minimum budget of £700−£750 per month (excluding tuition fees) recommended by university
Term-time work:	Some work available on campus in market research, clerical, library, catering etc; university jobshop helps students find work on and off campus.
Financial help:	Fee rebate of £1000 for each year of the course successfully completed. 420 scholarships of £3000 in Year 1, open to students with 280 tariff points, whose family income is up to £25k pa; scholarships of £3500 in Year 1 for students with grades AAB at A-level (or equivalent). Some bursary and partial scholarships for international students. Extra help available from the access to learning fund.
University tuition fees:	Home students pay £8500 pa for first degree courses (£7000 for foundation degrees). International students pay £9450 pa.

Student view

Living

It has campuses in 3 different areas. The biggest (City Campus) and the smallest (Compton Campus) are a few miles apart in Wolverhampton; two others are in Walsall and Telford. Free buses go between the 3 sites and don't really take that long. Lots of development at all 3 sites: brand new teaching building at City, halls of residence at Walsall and students' union at Telford - also a new innovative product development centre. As to studying, university has a really relaxed atmosphere. Libraries are big and spacious, with designated areas for quiet and group work. Many other learning areas, from Costa Coffee, to SU activities HUB, to the bar areas. SU is the heart of student life on all campuses. Not only does it have a bar, but offers advice on housing, finance, welfare, academic issues; training and development; extra-curricular activities such as societies and volunteering; social spaces and sports - and that's just the start. Freshers week is massive, with stalls for free stuff, live music and lots of fun for everyone. Always somewhere and something for everyone - well nearly!

Summary

Housing: Halls a must in 1^st year (some rooms ensuite). Plenty of private housing (uni accommodation list). Eats: University food is tasty but pricey, in a really nice refectory. Good pub food eg at the Tap and Spile in Wolves. Drink: Good union bar, fairly cheap; Banks, Whitbread, Scottish Courage, S&N. Loads of places in town to eat and drink. Nightlife: Places to go every night of the week. Good range of ents at the union. Some good nightclubs for when the union is quiet - try Heat in Walsall, Walkabout in Wolves. Sports: Loads in and out of the university; very active athletics union. Jobs: Plenty of work in bars and shops, reasonable pay. Financial help: Excellent welfare service both uni and SU. Best features: Lively, friendly atmosphere. Worst: Split sites. Informal name: Wolves Uni.
