Sexual harassment

Back to Full List
Jump to:

If you are being sexually harassed – by a member of staff or a fellow student – make sure you tell someone. Most SUs have an officer responsible for women’s issues.

If you are raped, you (women and men) can ring the Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre on its helpline, 01483 546 400 (open 7.30pm–9.30 pm except Saturdays and bank holidays); website www.rasasc-guildford.org. This is part of a national network of such centres – for one nearer you, check the list of members on www.thesurvivorstrust.org.

There is also a male-only rape centre, Survivors UK. It runs a helpline on 0845 122 1201 (open 7pm−10pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday); or email through the website www.survivorsuk.org.

When either of these is closed, ring the Samaritans on its central number, 08457 90 90 90.
